Join the people at Tillers ...

Enroll in a Class

Whether you are learning from our excellent blacksmiths at an anvil of your own for the weekend, shaping a shaving horse with an adz and enthusiastic instructors, or trying your hand at training calves under the guidance of some of the countries' best ox drivers, you will expand your confidence and competence in new and frequently unexplored directions. Tillers makes learning fun and challenging.

Tillers' Description of Classes and Activities contains a listing of classes offered throughout the year. Join kindred spirits for hands-on learning at Tillers' facilities. Enhance the experience by staying at Tillers' Guest House located at Abbey Farms. Registration is required for most classes. A Registration Form is available for printing.

Lend a hand as a Volunteer

With their broad array of skills, volunteers bring a friendly energy to Tillers. They make it possible to offer new classes, to care for animals, to expand facilities, to get out the mail. Use the Response Form to request the Nigh Ox, a newsletter for volunteers, and learn about opportunities such as researching a technical or historical question, serving lunch for a class, or perhaps, joining an overseas trip to teach or photograph development in action! Work at Tillers is deeply rewarding. By becoming a sponsoring member, you will keep in touch with these opportunities.

Additional helping opportunities

Become a Member

A membership ($40 per year) in Tillers will keep you in touch. As well as the TillersNews, you will receive the Nigh Ox and will be first to receive the annual schedule of classes. Members also receive 10% discounts on classes and publications. A Membership Form is available for printing.

Donations - You can be a critical partner in the growth of Tillers' educational work. While Tillers operates on a low overhead and stretches all its funds, it needs donations to complement program revenues. Your can direct gifts to overseas training, to rural history training for local youth, facility development, or endowment funds.

Bring a Group

Tillers' warm historical and international atmospheres are also available by arrangement to youth groups, school classes, and for adult training and retreats. Call to schedule an eye-opening program. See Youth Outreach Program schedule.

Presentations to Remember!

Would your service club, church or university class benefit from an inspiring multimedia presentation on Tillers' projects? Dick Roosenberg, Dave Kramer, Herb Nehring and others can grab the attention of your group with amazing cross-cultural encounters, charming images of Tillers' farm and postive stories from the facinating world of rural development.

Tillers' Publications

Tillers has rare publications on animal-powered practices. Also available are Tillers' TechGuides, which give you the knowledge to put animals to work safely, humanely, and productively. Check our on-line General Store for hard to find supplies such as ox yokes, yoke hardware and bows. Tillers' skilled wood and metal workers can build to historical or adaptive needs.

Tillers' Response Form

Use the Tiller's Response form to tell us about yourself or pass along your ideas and comments. The Form can also be used to request a Class Schedule or Tillers Catalog of quality products and hard-to-find publications.
