Draft Horse Training Seminar

This class is scheduled to accommodate Draft Horse Basics students and those specifically interested in training techniques. The class covers techniques used to train a draft horse in preparation for using them in the field.

Tillers welcomes back Amish trainer Harlan Yoder. Harlan trains horses that need to behave in harness. Watch while he takes you through the steps for transforming an inexperienced colt into a well-behaved workhorse. Topics include working spoiled horses and building confidence in horses that haven’t worked.

This class takes place at Harlan’s farm about 1/2 hour south of Tillers International. Students will meet at Tillers by 8:30 am and will car pool to Harlan’s farm. Lunch will be served at the farm.

Tillers has a scholarship available for people interested in learning more about draft animal farming which will pay for 60% of the tuition for draft animal farming classes. For more information, download the application here.
