Ox Driving Intro

IMG_5387
Oxen are an inexpensive alternative to tractors and an excellent resource on small farms or in woodlots. This class is for people just starting with oxen. You can take this class to see if working with oxen is for you or to begin your ox driving journey.

Learn to drive teams using voice commands. Seasoned oxen and drivers build your skills and confidence beginning with the easiest driving teams and moving up to a variety of field tasks.

The class concentrates on driving skills, but also introduces yoking, training, hitching, and options to voice control systems. Ask about bringing your team.

Note: start time will vary after the first day. A complete schedule will be distributed the first day of class.

Tillers has a scholarship available for people interested in learning more about draft animal farming which will pay for 60% of the tuition for draft animal farming classes. For more information, download the application here.
