Tools for Timber Framers
Timber framing is a popular class at Tillers International. Students learn how to build timber frame structures, get introduced to design, and spend a week building a barn, shed, or other structure. When they finish, they often want to delve more deeply into timber framing. One way is to learn how to make the tools required to be able to make the mortise and tenon joints.
In this class, students will make the chisels, slicks, gouges, and mallets needed to move forward in your timber framing adventure. After this practical tool building class, you will leave with more than your money’s worth of tools, plus the knowledge to make more. Non-traditional tool making methods and processes are used to facilitate production.
