Karen has been crocheting and knitting since she was 12 years old, and has been spinning and weaving for about 26 years. Karen learned naalbinding and weaving bands to participate in Viking age reenactments. She has been part of the Weaver's Guild of Kalamazoo for 25 years as a past president, and is the current Education chair and the leader of the Spinners on Wheels Study group. Nothing makes her happier than teaching and showing others the skills she enjoys.
Kal has been a weaver for 9 years, making potholders and inkle bands. He also enjoys lucet cording and needle felting. A member of the Weavers Guild of Kalamazoo for 9 years, he is the Chair of the Service Buearu and enjoys demonstrating historical fiber crafts and learning about the different things you can do with fiber.
Karen and Kal have taught and demonstrated at Tillers, Earthcraft Skillshare, Northern Michigan Fiber Festival, Michigan Fiber Festival, Michigan Viking Alliance, Kalamazoo Nature Center, Charlton Park, Scottish Festival in Kalamazoo, and Weavers Guild of Kalamazoo.
