Blacksmithing Chisels and Shaping Wooden Handles (3 Weeks)

This three-week series will introduce students to basic forge and woodworking safety and skills. In the first week, we will begin forging a pumpkin carving chisel which will be finished and heat-treated in the second week. In week three, we will craft and fit a custom wooden handle for your hand-forged chisel. Time permitting, we will carve pumpkins on the farm or students can take one to carve at home. Available to students 10 and up.

These sessions will meet on Thursday, October 8; Thursday, October 15; and Thursday, October 22 from 10am to 12pm.
