These containers were traditionally used as drinking vessels. We will make them in pine, like the originals, but will use metal bands instead of traditional wooden bands. The Mary Rose was a 16th-century English naval warship. Its wreck was rediscovered off the coast of the Isle of Wight in 1971. The same style of tankard was found among the wreckage.
