Learn how to make jellies and jam from fresh and frozen fruit, any time of the year. Explore no-sugar options, canning fruit, canning peppers, and seasonal produce. Students will learn to preserve the bounty of the coming fruit season, and learn to use fruit juice to make preserves throughout the year. Participants will take home the preserves made in the class!

Sandie Kelley-Gieber carries forward generations of Appalachian tradition, turning the humble art of canning into something truly memorable. After decades spent perfecting her craft, she’s known for transforming seasonal harvests into vibrant jams that taste like family stories.

Brenna Pixley is a gatherer of plants, ideas, and people. She has taught on the subjects of all things plants and wild edibles for almost a decade at Tillers International and KVCC. Her biggest passion project is as the Director of Earthcraft Skillshare, an ancestral skills family campout hosted at Tillers every July. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and attending skills gatherings around the country.
