Event Details

Learn how to layout and cut dovetails using simple hand tools.  In this class you will build a small decorative box from local hardwoods.  You will make a dovetail template and learn how to use a divider to layout a row of equally sized and spaced dovetails.   You will see and learn how to accurately cut and fit dovetails using a hand saw and chisel.  Glue up and clamp your box, and mortise butt hinge pockets for the lid with a chisel and mallet.  Miter some trim to add around the top and bottom, and you will leave for home with a beautiful treasure box.
