In this two-day class, students learn how to use a wide variety of handtools for working wood, including marking and layout tools, hand saws, hand drills, chisels, planes, and much more. Sharpening and adjustment of chisels and planes will also be covered. Students should bring along their own hand tools if they are interested in sharpening them and using them in class. Beginner class.

Dave spent his early years living in St. Lucia, Tanzania, and Uganda where he taught woodworking, drafting, metalworking, and agriculture. He has also worked at a wood milling company, worked and volunteered at Tillers, and taught woodworking and drafting for 22 years at a public high school. Dave and his wife, Luz, live in Vancouver, WA. Recently retired, Dave enjoys volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and raising backyard chickens.
